So far, I’m really enjoying taking videos and sharing them on YouTube and TikTok. My goal is to see if the content I create is good enough to achieve organic growth. So, all I do is post and let the algorithm work its magic. Hmm, that sounds simple—but in most cases, it’s not.
According to YouTubers and TikTokers, it takes months or even years of consistent posting before I can monetize my content on these platforms. It’s a tough challenge, but I’m willing to give it a shot because, who knows? It might just pay off in the long run.
In the process, I get to learn and improve my photography and/or videography skills as well. The thought of being able to monetize my videos is just a bonus in that sense. So, I might as well give it a try!
So, last Sunday, I decided to go to Orchard Road to practice taking videos. And since I’m a multitasker, I also took photos every time I paused.
After juggling both photography and videography, I realized one thing—I’m not really good at taking videos! 😂 And that is something that I wanted to improve in the next sessions.
I created two versions of the compiled videos. The first is a simple stitching of short clips, while the second uses a CapCut template.

The main difference I noticed is the video quality. The one I edited using the TikTok app maintained its original quality, while the one edited with CapCut had noticeably degraded quality.
Although the quality is slightly degraded when using CapCut, I still feel that the app offers more tools to enhance transitions and add interesting effects to short videos.
For the next part of my post, I want to share the photos I took during a night of exploring Orchard Road.
During my walk, I was hoping to see more street buskers, but it seems that the weather over the past few days discouraged them from coming out that night. It was a bit disappointing, but thankfully, the vibrant atmosphere of this street never fails to amaze me! 🤩
Overall, it was a fun night of experimenting with videography while capturing some memorable shots along Orchard Road. Though I still have a lot to improve when it comes to taking videos, I enjoyed the process and learned a few tricks along the way. I’ll definitely keep practicing and exploring new ways to make my content more engaging!
