Sublime and Beautiful Sunday has gone to the birds
This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108.
For once I can share some recent shots, the other day was relatively nice the temp was 50F and the sun was shining so I made the most of it and got out for a walk at Buttonwood Park, got a nice walk in around the park, and then around the pons trying to get some shots of the birds enjoying the nice day.
The shots are not as good as I would like them to be, for a couple of reasons, as my shoulder has been playing up and its the right shoulder which I use for holding the camera, I did not take my largest lens that is a 20--600m lens so I can zoom in a lot closer on them, but it is very heavy and hence why I choose not to take it that day.
These were all taken with my 50-400mm lens which is lighter, but not super light and by the time I was taken these and put on this lens my shoulder was letting me know it had enough of this and was throbbing a bit making holding the camera steady tricky, but got some good enough to share
Startign with this pait of Wood Ducks now I think thats a kind of unbecoming name for them, wood duck sounds kind of plain but I think they are beauties

Next up is this group of what I think are Merganizer ducks, they were keeping their distance from meright in the middle of the pond
Maybe they got scared off by a friend and fellow photographer who was there a day or so before and taking shots of them, he got some awesoem shots of them by the way, at that stage the pond was frozen over, and he walked out onto the ice a little to get around and closer to them, like i said that worked and he got great shots, but walking back the ice broke under him, and intot he water he went uptio his waste, he splahed his camere but didnt drop it inthe water and its fine, but he had some scratches and bruises.
Thats why I dont go walking out onthe ice anymore, and also perhaps what made these ducks keep their distance
