I am one artist that actually loves still life compositions but do not really make much pieces of them nor talk about them so much and I think that's because it's not so valued in the art market these days.
As an artist that loves contrast a lot, I know and believe that still life composition is one of the best way to portray and enjoy the use of light so well. The manner at which still life objects react and interact with light can be so interesting and convincing and that's where my interest often lies.
