RE: Talking About It Doesn't Get It Done

in #busy6 years ago (edited)

Like it or not, DLive delivered a great product. DTubes interface is abysmal (but i heard they have a new patch coming out soon) and our sign up process sucks. I dont want flocks of people coming to steem yet because all that will do is turn them all off unless they are really into crypto. The average person sees all the bullshit that we try to ignore and moves on to something else. If more people knew about this place, it may feel more embarrassing to tell people you post here as almost everything is inferior to our centralized counterparts. Fact of the matter is, the majority of us that stick around are a bunch of socially awkward weirdos that dont care for much content other than content about our blockchain.

I see hope in dapps like Partiko. They seem to be one of the only dapps (besides steem monsters) that actually knows how to incentivize users to sign up and earn points.

I can act like im pissed and say “fuck DLive” but the truth is their site shits on anything this blockchain has right now, centralized or not. If our best feature is that “were decentralized” then this place is going downhill. Nobody except wackjobs/conspiracy therorists will gravitate here if we dont have a product that is enjoyable and easy to use.

[ seriously tho, this post is 100% accurate. Vimm has not advanced one bit, visually at least, since DLive left. DTube hasn't etiher, due to investment troubles I guess. Steem needs faster development, better development, and a cohesive push. ]

I'm saying that's the side we should look at. It's a waste of time to blame them.

We have to decide if there is something we should be doing better.
