I currently don't see how the revealing of the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto would benefit crypto users.
We will probably not even know, whether it will be true or not.
Maybe we will know, if the person(s) in question will confirm (or refute) John McAfee's statement.

It probably won't benefit me, per say, but I do think it matters.
If McAfee actually knows the true identity [ which, to be clear, I am so fucking confident that he doesn't that I'd be willing to stake some pretty big money on it ], revealing his identity would probably cause a pretty big storm on most social media sites.
Isn't Satoshi's wallet like over a trillion dollars or something? [ or maybe that was just at ATH, maybe it's a few billion / few hundred billion now? ]
Someone with that much potential money becomes a target.
