We spend so much of our lives in schools and colleges from an early age, so that we can be prepared in any way we can to meet the real world and live the way we want.
The education system should provide students with everything necessary so that they can realize their highest potential in life, make money, be happy, or do whatever they like.
But this is not what we usually see. After college, many, if not most, are very confused about what to do in life. They know that they want to do something, but are not sure what it is.
What causes this confusion? Why are there so many anxieties and fears among young people who have just graduated from college about their future life? Well, the outdated education system is to blame. It just can't keep up with the fast-paced world.
Outdated system
Each of us is unique in its own way. And this despite the fact that more than seven and a half billion people roam the planet. We all have our own unique abilities, interests, strengths and weaknesses, hopes and dreams.
Why, then, does the same teaching method apply to all students in schools and colleges? Why is everyone forced to read the same subjects, regardless of their interests? It seems that we still have not left the mentality of the “industrial era”, when everyone had to do the same bunch of work, and everyone could learn like a robot.
The world today is very different. There are millions of things for anyone to do, and we live in an information age. The world is changing faster than anyone can imagine, and this requires people who can think critically and unconventionally.
But the education system is busy telling students what to think and not how to think. This is the exact opposite of what we want in our civilization. If only schools invested time in each individual student in order to understand their talents and adapt teaching methods in accordance with their interests and interests, we could create much more productive human resources for the whole world.
Students will no longer be embarrassed after graduating from college, as they have already decided and prepared for what they want to do. This is the perfect way it should be. Will the education system change?
