That's generally what happens, and I think it's healthy, too. There's just only so long one can maintain this level, I think (unless your janton, but he's not even on the list anywhere so who knows who great he's still doing. :).

So, as we slip away, there are others to take our place, and we theirs when we come back for round two. :)

As I've told a couple others, I had some goals to meet each day last week, and hit most of them, so it helped to spread the work out more across the week than what normally happens. I usually find myself on Friday and Saturday trying to catch up. Doesn't quite work that way. :)

Bouncing between first and third isn't too bad, I guess. :)

I had a good week. I managed to keep to my main comment goals, for the most part (Wednesday lagged a little), but then Friday and Saturday more than made up for the lagging, so I'm happy about that. Having a goal and sticking to it feels good.

It also feels good to be over the 200,000 character mark. It's been quite a while (probably close to a year—I'd have to go back and see). And since character per comment averaged around 690, I feel like I wasn't getting carried away in that regard, either.

All in all, a decent week.

Of course the trick is, improve upon it, because the mountain never stays at the same altitude.

Thanks for all of this, Asher. It is motivational and it is worth it.

It sounds like you've been experiencing some burnout of your own (I'm assuming it happens to most/all of us—it's happened to me—it may be happening again right now!), so I wish you well this week, though finishing tenth in your own league doesn't exactly spell doom and gloom. :)

Congratulations to all those who finished on this list, particularly the Top 10. Lots of work involved.

Looks like numbers were down from last week. Since this isn't a comment factory, I guess we don't have a comment quota, so I think as long as we can just continue to engage with people throughout the week, we will be doing ourselves, those we interact with, and the STEEM platform good. This is where it's at.

My thought, rather than have to execute SQL on the entire Steem database was simply “mining” your data! Now … That assumes you have saved copies of your spreadsheets week to week. And that you could pull this info into a database of your own …

Lots of assumptions, I realize, but thought I would make that suggestion, as I know I would like to see how well ~~@janton~~ ?...? did going “flat out!” 😊 Let alone where everyone else would rank in the “Top Ten” all-time list. The week where the listed score was achieved would be in an additional column …

I have every file, but I think it would be less painful to make SteemSQL do the work actually :D I'll have a think, I do occasionally pull a quarterly/yearly file for a subset of the stats, but perhaps a 2018 all stats is looming :)

A very good week, not so much for me number wise, but still a very good week. I still made the list, even made the curation list at 95, but still it was nice to see two weeks in a row on there with just my willy-nilly style of voting. A slight drop in the over-all numbers for everyone, but with this weeks world events and the Easter holiday with families coming together I am sure it was the big reason for the slight drop off.

that's nice, I'm already on the list, now I keep on talking in steemit where I can also enjoy it if someone replied my comments.
Not only that, many steemians will follow you suddenly because of doing comments.
