This morning I reached a new milestone.
A quarter-million Steempower.
I reached it much sooner than I thought I would, but the low price of STEEM really helped.
In the last 10 days, I was able to (mostly) buy another 10k SP.
10k SP is an insane amount to add to one's account.
To put it into perspective. I have been here for 3,5 years, trying to earn STEEM like everyone else.
I have earned roughly 87k SP in that period and I just bought more than 1/9th of that in a week.
For me, personally, that feels like an absolute steal. Why? I know first hand how hard it is trying to earn it.
I also know that earning another 87k (from the reward pool) moving forward will be absolutely impossible.
It has nothing to do with HF21 but just simple math. The daily reward pool is a fixed amount of STEEM and more and more people will compete over it when Steem grows.
It will naturally lead to everyone earning less.
I also know when the price of STEEM goes back up everyone will be earning more 'dollar value' (and no doubt ppl will be happier) but most won't be earning more STEEM.
Example:
10 STEEM worth $0,16 = $1,60 payout (aka STEEM is shit but you earned more STEEM).
2 STEEM worth $1,60 = $3,20 payout (aka STEEM is great but you earned less STEEM).
HF21 will accelerate this process a little bit for most. 10% will go to the SPS and 25% more will go to curators.
But there is no guarantee the price will reflect it straight away (or ever).
One of my plans moving forward is to earn more STEEM through curation so having more SP now makes sense.
I won't be able to buy any more STEEM when it goes back up, so what I then have is what I will have.
(Also, much further along the line, I expect STEEM to just be the underlying token used for RC's by companies. I'll doubt normal users will ever even see it.)
For now, my plans are the same as they were for a while.
I'll try to add to my SP holdings for as long as the price is this low or lower (which could very well happen).
For every (foundation) builder, these are dream prices currently. For every taker, not so much, right now.
Luckily Steem has many builders and I love seeing them at work every single day.
O and one more thing!

He's one of the biggest investors in Steem currently that is not in the shadows so I think that could be very informative!
