Nout Wellink, the former president of the Dutch Central Bank said it in December of 2013. He believed all the hype about Bitcoin would eventually die. Now, the Netherlands is proposing crypto regulations under the guise of preventing criminal and terrorist activity.
And there I was thinking it was to control such activities.

Thank you for the TULIPs. I don't doubt that the government wants to control the criminal/terrorist activity. They know that claiming to control the crime/terrorism will get support from law abiding citizens who don't realize the true cost -their privacy!
