Yeah, something needs to change.

At 500 power we get a slider, but my vote value is like a penny.
For active engagement this really tells me there is no value of voting here on Steemit.

I amassed 500 power when the price was between 2 to 4 $.
Now, I'm thankful anytime it seems to approach 50 cents. It's a wonder why someone would pay a grand for a platform that only recognizes them after expending the price of a new car.

While removing the linear monetary mechanism would turn away a whale or two, do we think that even one who is here for "social" reasons would be dismayed by the activity of active sliders picking up a dollar a day?

Crypto is about tangible stuff. Right now, our votes are not.
Funny how I would feel better if the slider was engaged at 10k rather than 500. At least I would think there was long-term thinking behind the system.
