Finally

You all know by now that I'm an avid golfer. I enjoy all sports, but golf is the only one that I still play competitively. I'm lucky to be a member of a really good course here in Galway and That's where i play on Sundays.

Here's a few photos from my course a few days ago.

When I first took up golf membership at a club ,I lived up near Dublin. Like most people the golf bug bit hard and I really got into it.

I used to play at my local Golf course, as well as my work society, however, when we moved back home to Galway I stopped playing with the work society as all of the courses they played were up near Dublin and between travel time and everything else, it just didn't make sense over the past few years.

Quite a number of different societies here have asked me to join, but due to the kid's been quite young and other work and time commitments, I have not joined one yet.

One thing I had noticed was everyone was raving about two Galway Golf courses, in particular, one was Portumna, and the other 1 was Conamara Golf Links in Ballyconneely. I had never played either and both were now firmly on my bucket list.

Well, the good news is, I finally decided to join a society here and guess which courses are on their list to play? You guessed it! Ballyconneely and Portumna!!

So, I joined my local society, and the first outing was last Sunday in Ballyconneely, so I finally got to play the Golf course that I heard so much about and to be honest, it certainly lived up to expectations.

The greens weren't great on the day as they had just been hallow tined, but the setting and some of the golf holes and surrounding views were magnificent.
