Hello everyone!
I think that this is a post that I must publish, because I had to put in words what I experienced, and somehow, make it a compromisse, and assume the promise for myself.
Just like any short novel, the intro "line" could be:
"...It all started with a invitation from @pardinus". Well you might think that it was a difficult decision to make, since I've never been in any HiveFest, but for the strange side that might appear, but my answer to the question it was absolutely clear has water and simple has peanut butter sandwich!
Leaving my beautiful cloudy city of Lisbon on a day in advance, made me have the opportunity to shut down the "job related" circuits, and to connect with the outside world, and all the god energies around me.
As many of you know, my daily day job requires to be all the time under a ceiling, and in a low light environment, looking to a monitor to report X-rays or CT scans.
I don't remember my last "true" vacations, since the beginning of the pandemic... So this getaway, with a huge bonus of meeting interesting people from around the world made me hype about it.
Just when the captain of the flight announced the approximation for Schiphol airstrip to his cabin crew, I woke up from a dreamless sleep, and opened my eyes to admire the beautiful landscape of the surroundings fields of Amsterdam.
After the fast trip from Schiphol to Leidseplein, and from there to Overtoon, I just arrived at the Hotel Abba, just in the center of Amsterdam.
This little hotel room made exactly the purpose for the first nigh, since all the commodities were there. Simple, and clean.
I took a day tour in the next day to the central part of Amsterdam by foot. It is something, that everyone that is close to me know, is that I love cities where is possible to commute everywhere by foot or by bike, and I don't believe that there is another city with better conditions for those, then Amsterdam.
On the next day went to the Volkshostel
The first sight at the hotel entrance surely made a statement about the uniqueness of the place. From employees (happy and efficient) to the facilities and decoration, the place was absolutely perfect for the welcoming of Hive community.
Since I was in the hotel lobby from 1pm, I could watch all the frenetic coordinated work of the voluntary personal to make up the bags and promo packs for all the attendees. All the details count for them, and now I can see that it was more then important. Since the positioning of side HiveFest sticker in the room glass window, to the preparation of the welcome.
In the elevator, I was approached friendly by blocktrades and alpha, who I already heard about them, and I was amazed with their simplicity and warmth. On the lobby, after the check in, I just meet @empoderat and @queengaga, a very kind and likable couple from Spain that became a very nice surprise to me.
The first day of meet and greet is absolutely genius, since in my particular job area, when we attend to veterinary congresses, the called "Port of honor" only happens at the closure session. In this way I had the chance of meet face-to-face with the most iconic Hivers in day 1!
HOW CRAZZY IS THAT?!
(Sorry for not having photos, I was way to much excited to grab my mobile to do it!)
From the great presentation from roelandp, who was undoubtedly spotless one! No one left behind, attending everyone, and making sure that everything was starting at time with endless energy and drive! Who can beat it?
Crypto making huge changes in communities forgotten by "developed" society
I'm not gonna enunciate all the persons that contribute to make this weekend for sure my turning point in Hive (and somehow in life... Who knows), because I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna skip someone.
In the end of day#2, we had a joyfully boat ride tour... such a great Friday program!
... and arrived at the place were we went for playing "The Amazing Balls of Steel Hivefest 2022 Amsterdam"! Ahaha Never played the game, but I surely had a blast of trying out for my first time!
A proper japonese dinner was the starter demanded for the festivities that were on the run... With such great dinner company at my table! I think I was the only one with the I.Q. under 110! Ahahaha
On the end of the Saturday event, we didn't miss the opportunity to join the @detlev #SaturdayBeer
Did you noticed the little bee in the sign? PERFECT!
On Sunday, the dinner served in the Nautical and Yacht Club had the best company that I could find. I surely had a blast... And a record was beaten in this night for me 😁🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
After dinner, the party must go on, ant the 7th floor of the VolksHotel was reserved for us!
Monday morning... The day started with a shinny sun showing through the clouds, that welcomed our very last day in Amsterdam
After a long night, nothing better then a reinforced breakfast in the hotel's 7th floor
After a morning walk trough the city for last souvenirs, Schiphol was my last stop, were a double rainbow just left my "soul" fulfilled
There are few things in life that we can take it for granted, but even that I'm not 100% sure that I will be on next years HiveFest event, for more them 100% I have the will to be there!
@arcange proposal theme for the HiveFest7 is "Family". Just like a strong and unite family (that we can choose.... for the sake of those who wanna "control" by force ;) you all know who I'm talking about.
After writing this post, I got the good "blues" that we call in portuguese of SAUDADE
Miss you all
Honest sign... ;)
