It's been a while since I actually played a new mobile game. Whenever I feel like playing or when some of my friends and cousins ask me to play with them, I just head to Mobile Legends and start doing so. There hasn't been any game that I got interested in, until last month.
I used to play another otome game called Mr. Love (Queen's Choice) which later had an anime adaptation. As it has been a while since I played an otome game, I decided to give this one a shot.
Infold Games released Love and Deepspace earlier last month. It's the newest installment of the Mr. Love series which I used to play a few years back. An interesting point though, this newest otome game is in 3D!
Let's talk more about it in detail!
MAIN PAGE:
As it is an otome game (a story-based video game targeted towards women), there are several route and/or characters that we have to pursue. Unlike other otome games, this one is quite more interactive.
On the main page, you can click the icon I encircled with yellow and it would lead you to the second picture. Here, you can see four options below. These are several ways to interact with the character of your choice. They're originally locked at first, so you have to level up to gain access to these features.
The one I encircled red allows you to choose the character who you want to interact and see in the main page. There are three different characters in this game:
- Xavier = He's a deepspace hunter like my character. (I'm currently focusing on him.)
- Zayne = He's my character's doctor (a cardiac surgeon).
- Rafayel = He's a well-known painter.
I'm not that familiar with the other two, especially Rafayel, since he didn't have much appearance in the main story, yet.
MAIN STORY:
From what I have unlocked so far, the MC is newly recruited deepspace hunter. She is quite special because of her EVOL (the supernatural power that people have). It's quite unique and there's still a lot of discover about it.
In their world, there are wanderers, they're alien-like creatures that are attacking the place. The origin is still unknown. I think the MC is the key to get rid of these wanderers, but I'd need to play and finish this to find out. haha
In the STORY option, you can unlock chapters and challenges as your character levels up. The yellow one is the usual chapter where the story flows while the orange one is a challenge where you partner up with the character you are with in that certain part of the story.
This is an example of the challenge. It's a battle type of game where the MC and the partner fight against different wanderers. This is what I like most about the game! Most otome games are just about the story and choosing the best option to reach a certain ending, but in this case, you got the chance to fight! :)
MEMORIES:
Going back to the main page, you'd see the Memories option. In this section, you can see various cards of the three characters. Upon clicking one card, it would show you some stats like HP, ATK, DEF, CRIT rate and DMG. Using some boosts, you can level up these cards.
There are several types of cards, too. You have to strategize what to use during battle, so defeating the wanderers would be easier.
BATTLE:
As I've mentioned earlier, you'd need to use some boosts and other stuff to level up your memories. You can purchase them, or you can get some loot when you open the Battle option from the main page.
Aside from the training room, you can choose among the four options depending on what boost or item you need. They're all pretty important as you level up, so it would be helpful to use the battle mode from time to time. The battle style is similar to the challenge in the main story.
DATE:
Next part is the "Date" option. These are mostly romantic side stories that you can either read, listen to and even have an interaction with. By your side, Falling for you and Anecdotes are mostly romantic stories and encounters with the three characters. They're locked, but when you get a special memory card or increase your affinity with the character, they would unlock and you'd get access to them.
I enjoy the Playtime and the Photo Studio options the most. In playtime, you can play some crane games and gather some plushies, which you could use in designing your desk. As for photo studio, just refer to the green box. haha
QUESTS and OTHER EVENTS:
On the right side of the main page, you can see the following options:
- Agenda : Here, you can see the daily, weekly and other quests that you have to complete to level up and receive some rewards.
- Events : I haven't tried this, but these are limited-time events that you can also play. I think these are side stories as well.
- Wish : Using a coupon and other items which you gain from battles and quests, you can make a wish. This will grant you memories which you could utilize in battles.
- Shop : Obviously, this is where you can purchase things using real money. I rarely do that in games though. haha There's also an exchange tab which allows you to exchange some items with wish cards, boosters, and so on.
- With Him : This is the desk I mentioned earlier. I could decorate it with the plushies I got from "Playtime" under the "DATE" option. There are also some information about the three characters and some highlights.
PROFILE:
By clicking the one inside the green box on the main page, you'd be able to view your profile. Upon joining the game, you are to customize your characters then you'd be shown this area.
Aside from the profile, there's also the following buttons to open:
- Spacepedia - it's a guide regarding the game, characters and other things we ought to know. I haven't really checked them coz I play by trial and error mostly. haha
- Achievement - it's similar to quests, but mostly long term ones.
- Inventory - where your items and boosters are. Be careful because some items have an expiration date. :)
- Settings - it's where you can edit your character and other adjustments within the game.
FRIENDS & MAILS:
Doing the battles requires stamina, so one way of getting some is to add some friends. You can then exchange stamina with each other. Sending stamina to friends is also part of daily quest, so it would be useful.
Next to the friend icon is the mail. These are mostly announcements about updates or just them gamemaster's reminders and whatnots for the players. :)
PHONE:
Since I'm a fan of the games PICKA and Mystic Messenger, I also really like this feature. By clicking on the phone icon on the main page, you can check messages, phone and video calls, newsfeed and some public account posts.
I especially like the phone and video calls because the voice actor's voices are also really good to listen to. We can unlock messages, calls and the like as our affinity with the characters increase or when we get a special memory with such reward.
It's cute because you can also set your profile picture, cover image and so on... just like a real social media account.
I'm still on my second week of playing the game and so far, I'm enjoying it. I'm curious about how the story would unfold. However, my focus now is getting and upgrading my memories by doing some battles and fulfilling the daily quests. I want to level up first, so I could binge-play the main story on my day off. This way, I won't be waiting to level up before I could unlock more stories. :)
