Bubble Ghost Remake Coming in March for Nintendo Switch and PC

in Hive Gaminglast month (edited)

If you were a Game Boy gamer back in the day, or rocking a computer in the early 90s, then you might remember Bubble Ghost. I don’t blame you if you do not remember it though. I only remember it because I was interested in the play mechanics but after borrowing the Game Boy copy for a weekend from a friend, my interest waned quickly. That was mainly due to the crappy screen of my 1st generation Nintendo Game Boy. Had I played this on a computer, with color and being able to easily see what was going on, I probably would have bought a copy. I have played it via emulator since and it was a completely new experience.

Breath Deeply and Exhale Carefully

If you are not familiar with Bubble Ghost, and presumably how Bubble Ghost Remake will play, then get ready to be careful. While little, if anything can hurt your character, the ghost, ANYTHING can burst your bubble.

It is a bubble after all.

Your goal is literally to blow this bubble around the rooms of this mansion without hitting something. Anything.

The actual story of Bubble Ghost is quite sparse. All you are told is the mansion is haunted, and you must uncover the story of Heinrich Von Schinker. That and avoid obstacles, creatures, and solve puzzles.

The Remake Blows the Original Away

To say the original cannot hold a candle against the remake is an understatement. That is basically a given. Graphically this remake is quite charming looking. There are animated cutscenes as well as static “panning” scenes included.

The art style has a very strong “watercolor” look to it. It is charming. I am at a loss for another word to describe the art style. It is wholesome, clean, detailed.

There will be several versions made available depending on where you live.

This could be infuriating for completionists.

Bubble Ghost Remake will be available on PC via Steam and on the Nintendo Switch on March 27th, 2025. Obviously, PC is only getting a digital version.

Nintendo Switch on the other hand is getting a few different physical options:

Standard edition will be available in North America and Europe.

Collector’s Edition will be Europe only.

Demo, on both Nintendo Switch and Steam now available.

Game boy we use to play that alot during childhood, no wonder this game looks familiar. It even seem fun and not scary, maybe I'll give it a look out

The original doesn't have jump scares or anything that I remember, it is filled with frustrating points where you feel cheated though. Lol

Lolzzz so this version seem easy

I am not sure, it is not out yet. It looks nicer though.

Ohh it looks cute to me
