So I always thought that this was to not see, speak or hear evil. I took it literally. As we humans do.

What does it mean to you? ;) #curious

Great minds think alike Nicky! I also took it very literally, cause considering nothing is good or bad but all just is and itโ€™s our perception that dictates what is and isnโ€™t evil, then it makes total sense.

Although when I was reading about it before posting yesterday, wikipedia said some used this phrase to describe people who turn a blind eye on things.

I think your first assessment may be more on target, actually :) I didn't think of this perspective. Thanks for sharing. Now I'll have to give it more thought ๐Ÿคซ You are clever!

My understanding was that we shouldn't see (? - which doesn't make sense); speak or hear (? which also doesn't make sense) any evil.

I actually used it for this perspective but I don't think it's meant to be this. Mine was a creative use of it...

Glad I'm not alone! :D

My understanding when I asked was that, if we practice non-judgement and get to know ourselves well enough, we begin to understand other people's action with compassion.

I guess we will never know what it means in full unless we ask the artist

The truth usually lies somewhere in between and with our own growth we see next possible layers to each truth or proverbs and even lyrics of the song. Even the artist him/herself might not know what they tapped into in their creative endeavours ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™

Yep. It's like that :)

Layers... and layers... and layers!
