Hello friends, I hope everyone is well. Today, I would like to take you to join a merit-making ceremony, which is an activity and tradition of Thai people. When someone dies for a year, there will be a merit-making ceremony, offering food to monks, and relatives who come to the ceremony to join together and believe that it will result in the spirit of the deceased receiving blessings and going to a good dimension.
Last week was the merit-making ceremony on the anniversary of my grandmother's death, which is more than ten years ago, and today is the anniversary of my grandson. Each place has a slightly different method. My grandmother organized the event at home, and the food was hired from a noodle shop to cook for the relatives who came to the ceremony.
This week, the event was held at Wat Khanon, and the food was bought ready-made, and some relatives brought it to join in the merit-making. After the ceremony, when the monks finished chanting, the relatives who came to the ceremony ate together, talked as appropriate, and then went their separate ways.
Thank you to all my friends who have supported me.
