There are many rivers and canals in St. Petersburg. The city is located in the Neva delta. We can say that it is located on the islands of the delta, which are separated by channels. But this was not enough.

Several canals were made in the city for the convenience of economic activity. One of them I will show you now.

This is the so-called Obvodny Canal.

Next to them is the mostly industrial part of the city. Factories, warehouses, workshops... lots of stuff. There are residential buildings too, but not many.

There are many bridges spanning the canal. The most famous of them are the so-called American Bridges. There are two of them, they are purely railway bridges and made of cast iron. One of them is always in the picture :)

At one time the canal was navigable and used as a waterway to deliver various goods and commodities.

We'll go down to the water. This place must have once been a wharf or part of one.

After walking by the water we got hungry and went to a cafe nearby. But that's another story :)
