I feel as though Cyandra has untapped strength and fortitude she doesn't realize. Children learn relationships by watching and listening to adults. The fact that she realizes she's a quick learner, she'll put those tidbits of information she'd heard and seen together and use it to her advantage.
She already has a head start remembering her mother never addressed her father with a title. I can hear her now, "who does he think he is?" and will address that before she steps inside or immediately after she enters her new home.
