...Sometimes individuals are able to exercise emotional intelligence. This can only happen when the principles are understood and practiced. Knowing when to respond to difficult situations is key to survival in any professional setting. I share a story for the prompt "it's not as easy it looks" that is told in the format of a ZAPFIC100. The story is told in exactly 100 words and was created by @felt.buzz.
For my theme, I was inspired by and utilized the @daily.prompt's publishing of @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2088: it’s not as easy as it looks.
Below is my story:
“You incompetent fool!” Ned slammed his fist on Fredrick's desk, “Why the hell did they hire you?”
From behind cubicles, several co-workers rolled their chairs into the aisle. Shaking their heads, they exchanged glances, then waited.
Charlie rose quickly and tempered, "That was totally unnecessary, Ned, and definitely unprofessional. Show's over!"
He inched closer to Fredrick. "I've never seen anyone with such restraint as you displayed."
Fredrick took in a slow, deep breath. "It's not as easy as it looks."
He shook his head to release the emotional baggage he swore his briefcase would not carry to the next position.
