Now let's put this topic to rest. This is my take on Potterchinno.
I highly advocated for Poch signing. Majorly because he had the history of player development and working with young players which suited the new Chelsea Project.
I was against sacking Tuchel, but greatly and vocally advocated for Potter sacking. Am I advocating for Poch sacking? No. Am not there yet. Why? For three reasons I said before
Am not seeing how the guys being mentioned as his replacement are any upgrade to him and the ones I see as favourable Wouldn't perhaps touch this job
The club needs to have stability and work out the new project successfully
For advocating for him earlier, I was hoping and still hope he succeeds.
But.....
We must be allowed to air our frustrations. Especially when it emanates from things that are basic and seemingly avoidable.
Things Like somebody having his tactics wrong in 95% of matches, or somebody just changing line ups the way he changes his pants every morning just for the sake of it, or losing matches and just being insensitive and blubbering out gibberish with total disregard to the fans, Or somebody , or just being rigid in changing his ways even when things haven't worked for him with same style over the years, or just protecting stupid players performance with stupid excuses
When It's rumoured that "some players will prefer Poch because of stability" as a fan you should be worried especially when the same lot is virtually not performing. It shows you they are in a comfort zone and this is not just a tactical issue, but also a psychological one. It basically means their weak mentality and propensity to capsize in matches comes from the coach who they wish to see stay and serve their interests.
What we need Poch to do is just basic stuff. Consistent tactics, right fielding and set up the right culture and mentality to these players And by the way this nonsense of referring to the squad as young needs to stop. Basic human psychology states that when people hear something for long, they believe it and live it. He needs to make them know they can be what they are not.
Terry, Lampard and all the players under Mourinho first tenure all say one thing about him. He made them lions in the heart and would even walk through fire because Jose had said it was right. This was when Chelsea was a zero club in terms of fighting for titles or being a big club.
Right fielding, right tactics, consistency and culture. Just basics. And we shall all walk naked on the streets in solidarity with Pochettino.💚
