A Love Resting ln The Heart Of The Soil

in Freewriters13 days ago

Elf Absalom went to an old cemetery early in the morning, while it was half dark, and washed each and every broken tombstone there and put flowers on them, thinking to himself if it is possible for his love lying under one of these stones?

A century ago, Absalom fell in love with an elf named Darko and married him. They were happy together and as time passed, their love for each other deepened and their souls took root in each other.

Everything was like a beautiful dream until one day Joel, Darko's ex-lover, came to him.
"My love, I didn't want to leave you. Absalom put a spell on me so I couldn't get close to you. But I finally broke that spell after years of trying."

Darko was very angry to hear these words and Absalom was speechless because Joel was lying. He had left Darko for a rich elf, and after that elf had died suspiciously, he had taken his fortune for himself, and now he had returned to Darko.

Absalom talked to Darko and tried to open his eyes to the truth, but Joel spread false memories in front of Darko's eyes with his magical powers and made him accept the lie as the truth.

Then he took over the leadership of Absalom and Darko's mansion and ordered to whip Absalom in front of the eyes of all the residents of the mansion. As they stripped Absalom of his clothes and tied his hands and feet to wooden poles, he shouted:
"Darko, my love, this demon has deceived you. You mustn't believe his words."

But Darko was sitting in his room, with the curtains drawn and cotton in his ears. He had believed Joel's words, but still he could not bear to see the scene of Absalom's suffering or to hear his painful screams.

The long whip flew through the air and landed on Absalom's soft white body, creating a deep gash in it from which hot red blood flowed. Again and again the whip rose into the air and landed on his body until he lost consciousness.

When he woke up, he saw that he was lying naked in front of the mansion door, and his whole body was covered with deep wounds and dried blood. While his body and soul were in pain, he got up and went to a far away land.

He stayed there for decades and only returned when nightmares about Darko flooded his mind and anxiety gripped him so much that he had no choice but to go back and find out if his beloved Darko was safe.

And when he returned, he was told that his former mansion had been sold and that Darko had died suspiciously long ago and was probably buried in an old graveyard.

Now Absalom went to that old cemetery every morning and washed every single grave there and put flower branches on them and said:
"My love, are you resting here?"
