RE: Sonia Finds Out the Mystery of Galagany Family

in Worldmappin11 months ago

Oh my, what a story and fate of this family... :/

The palace is impressive, of course, and what about the piano in the Literature Museum? Did Sonia play it? ;))

A keen eye, bravo!😍

I asked about the piano. This room was an entertainment hall. Nowadays, they rarely have performances there, so the piano is in working condition. But, as they said, the piano is often out of tune.

Yes, probably out of tune as it seems old, and those old ones can't hold the tune for a long time as the strings can't stay tense so the pitch changes. Though it is a slight change but still can be heard. I had an old grand piano when I was a child, and it was happening the same, in the end, it could not be tuned at all. But in a museum, they look so good 😇

I have a piano in my mom's place. It is not that old but I remember the guidelines that the piano tuner gave to us - a constant humidity etc. Strings is (as for me, I might be wrong) is the part that is easiest to replace.

BTW, I just recalled a story that happened in an oldest Kyiv pharmacy-museum. I was there with a small tour. It is in a former house of the pharmacist and there is an old piano there. The director of the museum shared a story about the piano keys made of ivory. After another excursion, he discovered that someone had stolen one of the keys. (WHY??) It was replaced just before my visit. One of the excursionists played the piano well, and he let her play! It was the first time in nearly 200 years that anyone had played that piano. Incredible story!

After another excursion, he discovered that someone had stolen one of the keys.

What?

😱

Omg, how bad!

😤

It is not easy to steal a key from a piano, but for ivory, I guess some people would be crazy enough to steal (I can't even pronounce this without getting upset hahaha) it.
