Hello Hivers, greetings!
Drawing with scribbles has been one of the sweetest styles I have ever learnt.
I started with cross hatching and hatching which I took much more serious compared to other techniques especially when I want to make a commission piece.
So yeah, cross hatching was the go to technique I used during my art lectures and classes while I was an apprentice. I never took other method serious even though we were introduced to them.
Along the line, I found other styles used by other artists, especially scribbles and they were looking nice. I started developing interest and taking of some practices.
Initially, I was very bad at it but I persisted. More and more days, weeks and months practices before getting acquainted with it. The good thing about scribbles is that it allows you to flow to any direction of your choice which also allows your mind to be free and not right to specific moves. There is also a special feel that scribbles give to a work when done properly.
In this drawing, I show you where I used a combination of scribbles and cross hatching to sketch my model. For her head warmer, I used cross hatching to build the forms while her face and sweater were virtually done with scribbles.
They both are good to use but the applications are usually determined by your mood and/or what you intend to achieve.
Below are my steps by step processes for this random sketch of a blond lady:
Thank you for checking out on my art and taking out time to read my blog post.
Have a blissful day.
