My laptop is on its way to be fixed now. A friend got it from me today and will get it to the person who will do what he can to help me tomorrow.
This post is to tell him what was happening with it and just to connect with him.
I am writing on my mobile phone and this is very slow going. I'm using "Notes" offline and hope I can transfer it to esteem when I get done.
This phone sucks all kinds of wifi time while I bumble along. Among all the other troubles I am having, I really hope not to have to pay for more minutes too.
My laptop story

Thank you very much for helping me with my laptop. I really appreciate this and could not do it myself right now.
Gloria has the laptop to give to you tomorrow. I also included the cord and mouse even though you probably don't need them.
I did nothing after you looked at it last year. Whatever you did made it run better until recently, and now it is dead. It will not get past the opening screen with the Acer logo now.
A few months ago it started getting glitchy and I would have to reboot at least each 24 hours. I keep many windows and tabs open at all times. I used to reboot about every three days.
The mouse is new from Bangkok. My old one died and the touchpad doesn't work. It seemed like things got glitchier when I got the new mouse.
In the last couple of weeks, I was having trouble rebooting. I would get a lot of screens I never saw before. Acer wanted me to make choices and I have never seen that before.
Then one example is that opening Mozilla would open 68 windows instead of one. Yes, 68 windows - each time.
Then finally I cannot reboot at all.
So Josephine says there are now 2 computer shops in the little mall outside my condo gate. I'm thinking you could check those out and drop it off with the cheapest or fastest or the one you like better.
This way I can pick it up and you would not have to help when it is done. Some miracle will be coming to make sure I can afford what they do.
But if you have another idea for this already, I am fine with that.
I'm thinking anyone in a big mall would be more expensive.
