Beer Saturday
Click your fingers. Clap your hands. Boom. Another week has passed. Time to talk about a beer again and this week, it's an Irish IPA from O'Hara's brewing called 51st State. I haven't done an actual proper review of an IPA in a long time, so this week I'm going to put this Irish IPA through it's paces.
O'Hara's 51st State IPA
What they say
Bursting with bold tropical flavours of grapefruit, passion fruit, apricot and peach, this unfiltered IPA, which takes its inspiration from the New England IPA style, is an attack on the senses. A carefully chosen hop blend provides an intense citrus aroma while adding a well-balanced yet mild bitterness.
Can Art
Well they're not going to be winning any awards for design any time soon. It's fair to say that I've seen better and I've seen worse. Let's not judge the book by it's cover though and let's see what's inside, as that is the real measure.

Thoughts
What's better than a cold and tasty IPA? A cold and tasty IPA, with a spicy dish. We usually hit up our local Indian restaurant for the weekly spice fix, but this week I drove into the City to get some Asian street food from one of our favourite spots called Xi'an Street Food. It didn't disappoint and was absolutely spot on.
51st State IPA is a New England IPA. It poured a slightly hazy colour and formed a decent head.
The first thing I do when I open a new IPA is give it a good smell and this one didn't disappoint, with delicious hops and grapefruit apparent. Upon tasting grapefruit, passion fruit, apricot and peach were all coming through, with a smooth creamy mouthfeel.
Xi'an Street Food
If you're ever in Galway, do check out Xi'an Street Food and be sure to get a signature spice bag. As Colin Farrell said in Intermission, it's f***in delicious! That's a movie worth watching by the way. Very Irish, but very good too!
