Busy busy busy
We're all busy. We're busy with life, we're busy at work, we're busy with social life, we're busy with sport. Busy busy busy.
Too busy really. When you break it down, you see that sometimes with this busy lifestyle, life can pass you by without you really appreciating and seeing the small wonders all around us. Nature is a prime example and another is neighbours and community.
With that in mind my wife organised a street feast and invited everyone in our community to attend at our house yesterday evening. We met neighbours we know and others who we knew to see, but never spoke to before and even though the weather was dreadful, it was still a huge success.
Everybody brought one dish and their own drinks and we put on a barbecue and other food and drinks and it was absolutely fantastic and all our neighbours loved it.
I enjoyed my usual mix of IPAs.
Others drank various other beers and these were still left in the ice bucket this morning when I was cleaning up. These will keep my beer fridge stocked for a good while.
I pitched gazebo to save myself from the rain while barbecuing and it worked really well.
The beef burgers and Halloumi burgers went down a treat with all the neighbors too, who really enjoyed them they said.
Other neighbours made curry, salads, beetroot humus, lasagne and tonnes more and it truely was a street feast!
