Today I’ll be sharing with you a drawing i created recently using ballpoint and charcoal on paper.
————— THE FACE OF THE TIRED MAN —————
Look closely at his face, a battlefield
Where time and thought no longer yield.
The skin hangs loose, a parchment worn,
By nights unlit and dreams stillborn.
His eyes, two hollows etched by years,
Not wet with grief, but dried by fears.
No spark remains to catch the day,
Just dusk that will not drift away.
The lids half-drawn, like curtains low,
As if the world’s too bright to know.
His gaze slips past what others see,
Fixed on some dim eternity.
The cheeks are slack, the color gone,
As though the blood forgot the dawn.
A stubble thorns his sunken chin
A last defense, a quiet sin.
The lines around his mouth are deep,
Cut by the words he could not keep.
He doesn’t speak. He simply bears
The weight of too many stares.
This is no mask, no brief disguise
It’s what remains when courage dies.
And still it holds, this solemn frame,
A weary face without a name.
