I spent 10 days in Madeira 2 years ago, on Summer.
It is an amazing island, in my opinion, much better than Canary Island under the nature point of view, perfect for hiking also!
I am planning to visite "azores islands" too in the near future.
Wow, 10 days, I wish we'd stay that long. Unfortunately it's a short trip for us, just 4.5 days. I can't really compare as it's my first visit in an island like this but it is !INDEED very good so far, although the rainy weather today made us change our hiking plans.
Have fun in azores islands, I also heard lots of good things.
