Rainbows 🌈
What is it about rainbows that stops is in our tracks?
Is it just me who is mesmerised by them? I don't think so. I think many enjoy looking at them. The colour display that they put on as the White light from the sun is refracted into its constituent colours.
Here are some photos I captured on my phone of rainbows over the past year or so in Ireland.
The rainbow colours can also be seen using a prism to refract light and it is famously used on Pink Floyd's legendary album Dark Side of the Moon.
Other Sky Displays
It's not just rainbows either. Sometimes it can be a beautiful morning sky just before sunset or equally a delightful crimson sky at dusk.
I guess us humans crave the unusual sometimes in our surroundings. There is nothing unusual about an overcast grey sky in Ireland and there is nothing unusual about a blue sky in Spain, but a rainbow or a red sky, those are a little less common, which may explain why we savour them more. What's rare is wonderful, as the saying goes.
Here are some photos, again captured on my Samsung smartphone of sunsets and sunrises.
That's it folks, hopefully you enjoyed the photos ❤️🌈 🌇
