Foxes Gloves
These flowers remind me of my childhood. These particular flowers, known as Foxes Gloves used to grow wildly out on the farm and still do to this day.
Digitalis purpurea is the official name for this beautiful flower and we saw tonnes of them on our walk today. As with most flowers, the name is derived from latin, with digitalis meaning finger.
They are native to many countries in Europe, Western Asia, and northwestern Africa and are very prevalent here in Ireland.
Here are some photos that I took today, hopefully you enjoy them.
They were everywhere to be seen on our walk, all growing wild.
The Bee Keeper
This series of photos shows a resident bee enjoying coming and going from the tubular vessels of the Foxes Gloves.
