RE: More findings from the Treasure Trove - 1997 Match Galway vs Kilkenny

Oooohhhh, you're Irish! Where are you from exactly? I lived in Ireland for 10 years, till we moved to Mexico 3 years ago. 6 years Co. Roscommon and 4 in Mayo.

I always loved finding those old things that bring back memories. Unfortunately, I've left everything behind when we left, but we still have ALL my photos. That's the ONE thing I couldn't leave behind. Some is on USB sticks (several for safety) but most are actually physically here, which is a LOT. They had to be transported by my daughter and her boyfriend, twice, to get them all here haha.

But it's so nice that you can share this with your boys. Those are the memories they'll be passing on as well. :)

How ya doing. Not too far from where you lived actually. I'm from Galway and after some time away in Dublin, I'm back home in Galway now with my wife and three sons.

How's Mexico going? Thats a big change from Mayo and Roscommon, but far cheaper for living I suspect? And better weather too!

Where abouts in Galway? Or Galway city? I love Galway. I think it's one of a few places in Ireland I truly felt like a human being haha. And Clare has some good spots.
I like Dublin to visit but would never want to live there. My best, and only, Irish friend was from Dublin and she 'escaped', only to not make it through the first lockdowns in Ireland. So the place holds bad and sad memories for me. I always loved driving up to the North though, through Sligo and Leitrim. Some beautiful spots there.

Mexico is indeed a huge change. It's cheaper in some ways, but I pay more rent here than in Ireland. But I was extremely lucky to be renting from a 97 year old man who just wanted someone in the house. Now the rents have gone up quite a bit I heard.
There are much cheaper places here in Mexico, but I do like the fact that when we have a power outage, it's never long, while others can be out for days...The luxury comes with a price tag. Tourist areas are expensive but more reliable.

As for the weather, yes, we have pretty good weather here all year around, in our state anyways. Now it's been raining for weeks due to the hurricane season, and it's the first time in my life I actually love it hahaha. I'm from the Netherlands, so it's pretty much rain and clouds like in Ireland...

We're just outside Galway City near Moycullen. It's rural, but close enough to everywhere we need and I'm only a five minute drive from my parents house where I grew up.

Sorry to hear about your friend nit making it through the first lockdown, that's really sad.

I love that you were renting from a 97 year old man and I'm sure your company was great for him too.

Sounds like Mexico is treating you well anyways, happy days.
