Donkeys of the past
I'm not sure what it is about donkeys, but I'm yet to meet someone who doesn't like them. Is it the big ears? Is it the Shrek and Eddie Murphy effect? I don't know, but what I do know, is that mostly everyone loves Donkeys.
When I was a kid, we had donkeys out on the farm. They never did anything productive for the farm, but my Dad always kept a few anyway. There would typically be around 4 or 5 of them and us children at the time loved them.
It's true what they say about Donkeys eating absolutely everything in sight too, those Donkeys would try to eat anything and everything!
Donkeys in our neighbourhood
No, I'm not talking about our neighbours! We're actually lucky in that regard and get on very well with all of our neighbours. The nice thing about the countryside is that your neighbour isn't right on your doorstep and there are a few fields or gardens in between.
We don't have any donkeys of our own like I had growing up, but there are donkeys living in the neighbourhood and we often see them on our walks and that's who I have photographed below.
Donkey Joke
Speaking off donkeys let's finish with a joke about a donkey. I remember working in local pub back in my younger days when I was a teenager. I used to like telling this joke to the locals.
A man walks into a bar gasping for a drink. He finds an stool at the bar and sits down. The bartender looks at him and asks, "what do you want, jackass?"
The man sitting next to him looks shocked and asks, "are you going to let him call you that?"
