is forever. Despite the archaic and user-unfriendly format of Steemit, the people are great, so here I am--ready to share what I've learned and be a part of a creative community.

Hi, my name is Miles

and I like making songs. My newest album "FREQUENT FLYER MILES" is out now on bandcamp. The first song is "Iowa City" - where there's three dimes for every guy. Instead of singing all the lyrics myself as I did with my debut album My Name Is Miles, I recruited my friends and professional musicians to record some of the lyrics and solos.

From piano lessons at five to violin, percussion, guitar, and upright bass, music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I've been composing, recording on my own equipment, and playing multiple instruments most of my life. I used to draw a lot of original artwork as well but now I use computer graphics to create album covers and abstract images.

I'm digging the jazz vibes and wish you all the best sharing your creativity on the platform.

In regards to steem, it can be a little slow getting started on here, and discord groups are really the key to networking on steem. There are a tone of communities to join where you can chat and make contacts, as well as promote your content. I'm sure your mum can guide you in regards to some great discord groups to join.

I wish you all the luck in the world. I'm following you now 👍🙂

P.s. I've thrown a tweet out into twitter-world tagging some prominent steemians to try and get your intro a little more notice too.

Thank you on behalf of Miles, and here's Carol now.... Miles is packing his (tres minimalist) worldly goods into his SUV and getting ready to hit the road for Chicago, then New York, and this time, he'll sublet in Beford-Stuyvesant, and for a few months. For the better part of a year, he would move from one apartment (sublet) to another, from Manhattan to Brooklyn to Harlem or Bed-Stuy. He may be slow in getting back to you because he'll be on the road, not at a computer. But, one day, we will all be in France, and I'll be in the audience as you play guitar and Miles upright bass and maybe it'll be samba or bossa nova, maybe gypsy jazz, maybe klezmer, and quite likely, some improv and original composition. I CAN SEE it now, I can hear it now, I am visualizing the future (so as to make it happen) ;) CARRY ON! and merci beaucoup for listening to @mvkean's music. :) We love your artwork and music!

I know you already know these things, as you are in good hands, but let them serve as a reminder...

Eight suggestions to consider:

Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and steemconnect,
The master password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit,
be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.
Do NOT open any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.
