I was really excited last night to go to the chimek (chicken and beer) restaurant to watch the FIFA 2019 U-20 World Cup football game between South Korea and Ukraine. Sadly Korea lost 3-1, but congratulations Ukraine.
I don't know a lot about football, but some of my Korean friends were really excited to see the players and had high hopes they would win. Also, who doesn't like athletes?
I got to the restaurant early to get a premium seat. Actually, it was still light outside when I arrived. It is light until around 8 pm these days. The game did not start until 1 am so we had a lot of waiting to do. In the end, it didn't get busy. Maybe because this restaurant is in a business area?
We at a lot of chicken and drank a lot of beer. The game didn't end until nearly 3 am, so I was really tired. Me and my friends were at the table for 7 hours. Our bill was nearly $200 which is funny for a chicken restaurant. But there were 8 of us at one point.
In any case, they had so many flavors and the chicken was really good. We just went with original and spicy sweet sauce chicken. We did have later, but I wasn't really going to review the restaurant because I have to do an introduction post before I can use Tasteem again. I am not ready to do that yet. I want to write a few more times and see where this blog takes me.
This restaurant's name is BHC which means better/best healthier choice/chicken. It's similar to KFC if you ask me and I don't believe that using sunflower oil suddenly makes fried chicken healthier. I guess it is more healthy than using pork fat or soy bean oil. Anyway, this is a chain restaurant so there are locations all over Korea. The one I went to happens to be near Gasan Digitial Complex which is where Seoul Subway Lines 1 and 7 meet south of the river.
This time the FIFA U-20 World Cup was in Poland. But in 2017 it was in South Korea. That must have been really fun. I hear they take football seriously here. I hope to watch more football games with Korea. The FIFA Women's World Cup is on now, but Korea is not doing well in that. Football is a men's sport here I guess. Maybe next time, I will write about a fashion show or kpop event I've been too.
