RE: Are You Posting Because You Think Your Stuff Is Interesting?

Maybe because the PAL community is so diverse, with diverse interests... it could be seen as a microcosm of Steem.

But with the more niche tribes like sports, steem-monsters, etc... well, they are more nuanced and specific. It'll be obvious who the spammers-n-scammers are, and I believe part of the functionalities of these SCOT/steem-engine tribes is that there is a way of muting 'offenders'.

Maybe that functionality hasn't been dropped into palnet yet?

This is an issue I'm trying to wrap my head around, as a community I am part of would love to get a 'tribe' project up and running, and take it out to the world of our niche... but its the opportunists I'm worried about who will ruin it for any newcomers to the site.

As for my content, I honestly write for my own enjoyment. For some reason, I get more authentic, organic audience on Steem than anywhere else. I guess its how I've found myself in the community I was talking about... "found my audience" you might say.

And I get a wee bit of imaginary money for it at the same time. I've got a well-paying job I love, so I'm certainly not doing this to buy a Lambo ;-) LOL.

Sort:

Palnet has a decent alarm system built in. A plus the people can keep watch, just like you would in own neighborhood.

but its the opportunists I'm worried about who will ruin it for any newcomers to the site.

And sometimes they'll do a fine job of blending in and looking happy. Other times they just act weird, like a plagiarist who boosted his content up to Steemit's trending page, for all to see. "Hi, my name is so-and-so and I'm stealing!" Then this other guy on the sports trending page sticking out like a sore thumb. Nearly everything else was sports. I don't even want to go to the sports community to read about the sports community, but that's my personal preference.

Ain't that the truth. You see all these people talking here. We're talking. You can't even find this on a city bus. Everywhere else, people just look through you, as if we really are just living in a world where nothing exists.

As for the money. I could use a few things in life but I'm not posting just so I can buy a Bigmac Meal today. Nearly three years of posting actual content, with some time off as well, but now I nearly buy that hamburger from curation rewards I get each day. It's all about taking the seeds and planting them, instead of eating them.
