The Active and Passive Decisions That Lead to Performing Particular Tasks...

in #mindset6 years ago

Hi, Steemians!

Have you ever experienced one of those moments when you suddenly become self-conscious and reflect on how you are spending your time on that particular day?

Many of us have experienced this feeling, because there is only so much you can do to stop yourself from becoming self-conscious every once in a while, and examine everything in your life.

But this sensation is a bit different than anything else, as it undermines the things we do on a daily basis and tries to figure out why we actually do them.

image2.jpg

When you really look at an example of a day we all live, there are some active choices and some passive choices.

For instance, you might suddenly realize that you haven’t done anything productive today and haven’t taken a step towards achieving your goals.

But does that mean that you have effectively wasted that day?

Not necessarily. Because even though you have not made active decisions to shake things up and actually perform some productive tasks, you have still done something of partial value!

It is not as if we sit around and do nothing! (Then again, some people do that!)

image1.jpg
img src

If you are sitting in front of the television and you decide to go through the channels without really examining your decision is basically a passive choice.

Let us consider this very moment. After you are done reading this blog post, you have two options: Make an active choice, or a passive one.

What is the best thing I could do right now?

What is the most productive thing that I could busy myself with?

Thinking about this question and coming up with something to do is an active choice.

But if you let things steal your attention, you are making a passive choice.

For example, instead of thinking about what you are going to do, you simply get to doing the first thing that comes to your mind, regardless of whether doing that thing is right or wrong!

image3.jpg
img src

If you really want to take control of your life on a daily basis and boost your productivity, you need to make more active choices and become self-aware in the process of living and experiencing each day!

Without making active choices, succumbing to the causality of passive choices is an inevitable outcome that can destroy your productivity and create bad habits.

Because passive choices, as such their name proclaims, are essentially things that you may not want to do otherwise, but you end up doing nonetheless because you are not making active decisions.

Try to make more active decision in order to live a healthier life!

Hello,
my active choice right now is to write a comment to your post 😁
Another active choice today was my idea I had in the early morning to become reality some ours later.
Maybe you heard about the #Seven77 pushups challenge on Twitter by @nathanmars to promote Steem?
Ok, my idea today was to go to a 7/11 shop in my area and ask the staff for take a video of me doing the pushups in the shop.
Crazy?
Yes, a little 😅😁
So I went to the next 7/11, asked the staff, and?
They were very glad and happy to do this for me, big smiles on the faces.
That was a push-up for my self-conscious in the morning!
A great feeling!
So just be active, make active choices, you can!

JUST DO IT !!

Have a wonderful weekend
Tom

Greetings @ zanoni

You have given an example of being active

And the best thing of the matter, is that it could involve others, motivating the realization of positive activity to other people.

Thank you very much.

Greetings @chbartist

Taking an active or passive position is a matter of the aptitude with which we develop our activities.

If we have an active aptitude and clear objectives, we will achieve great progress in a short time

On the contrary, if our aptitude is passive, we surely do very little, and time passes without being able to achieve progress in our objectives.

In order to maintain a positive attitude it is advisable to get good stereotypes, people to follow. In "Steemit" there are many good people to follow and who give very good example of active attitude.

I absolutely agree with you, do not sit and think about what to do, get up and do, otherwise you will spend all your life passively participating in life

Wow you are so right.

I like your posts. i find them very inspiring

Passive decisions delay everything in life, and you can hardly reach what you have planned days ago. They do not lead anywhere, it's just like sailing adrift.

Hello @chbartist!

Certainly we must learn to be aware of the decisions we make, and activate our mindfulness at all times. Whether working on some task or dedicating ourselves to rest, those decisions must be conscious, active. Chance is not a good ally when it comes to making decisions.

I have spent a lot of time without comment because the RCs are consumed quickly by a healing initiative that I took more than two months ago. And because of the new crisis that my country is going through, of the electric blackouts, those power cuts have delayed me a lot in my work, and that is why they have not seen me much around here. But I have not stopped following your work, and finding out about the good news.

I am very happy to know that you are already a Witness in Steemit, I hope this is the beginning of many good things and projects. I will vote you this week. And I want to continue being part of this great community that has formed, to see its development and growth, and if possible, give my contribution.

Regards!!!

This is where "staying present" and trying to live mindfully comes in. So often, people go on "autopilot" and end up doing things "just because," without even realizing that they might not have done the best thing for the situation... and that they had a choice.

So yes, making active choices is a really important step towards creating more contentment in your life!

=^..^=

Without making active choices, succumbing to the causality of passive choices is an inevitable outcome that can destroy your productivity and create bad habits.

Hi @chbartist we need to make a proper choice and planing to get the work done on time with good outcome..
Lack of planning may lead to unsatisfactory results.
Thanks

Totally agreed just thinking will not make things happen we need to do it actively!
Keep inspiring us all

As we make these choices actively, we begin to grow good habits of attending our tasks to completion and reduces the risk of procrastinating those that are important for our goals.

Then there is the choice of procrastinating. Where you pro-actively choose not to do the things you are supposed to do. Anyway, I just came by to say I just followed you and I really like your content. Thank you

@chbartist every task only done by a proper planning and mindset. It always reveales the truht about your doing work. You know the destination but don't know the exact leading activities who can perform well fir you. Only you focus describe your leading roads to success. So becarefull for your step in life.

Sometimes when I am not able to do what I really planned for at the day, it all seems as if the day has been wasted as I was not able to achieve anything.

Me gustó mucho esta entrada. Saludos desde Venezuela!

nice one...thanks for sharing with us..

For live actively, we have to make a plan.

Yes for sure it is amazing how productive some days can be and how unproductive other days are. I multitask a lot maybe too much sometimes and because our minds actually cannot multi task, it means we are switching back and forth and not giving our full attention to the task at hand. I make mistakes at work sometimes rom multi-tasking, when I get too many jobs on the go at once. Because my full attention is not on the task I slip up. Also sometimes I am so engrossed in a task at home that I forget that I put the water on for tea and it boils dry. I think that making lists is a great way, plan your day with a list of tasks to complete and tick of each one as it is completed. Then review what you have achieved at the end of the day. If you feel it did not meet your expectations, make some adjustments for the next days list of tasks🙏
