Amy Winehouse – “All My Loving”
“All My Loving” (2004 – original from 1963)
This cover of the old Beatles tune features an excellent combination of Amy’s distinctive vocals and a very fitting jazz arrangement on the guitar.
Recognizable Beauty
The unique stylings of both the music and the vocals make this pop song virtually unrecognizable – particularly with Amy’s raw and visceral singing, which makes it more powerful, more emotional, more dynamic, and more soulful.
It’s not always attractive and not necessarily beautiful, but somehow, Amy expresses a subtle and more profound beauty. One that may not be obvious, but a beauty that becomes clear and palpable.
Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse was a British singer / songwriter who attained major international success while in her early 20s, during the Naughties (that is, the first decade of the 2000s).
From Jazz to Pop
Although she was often identified as a soul, jazz, or R&B singer, Amy’s music transcended genres, and her massive appeal and popularity essentially turned her into a pop star. In fact, on her second album, she created a sound that was reminiscent of the pop music produced by the US girl groups of the ‘50s and ‘60s.Singing the Right Way
Amy died of alcohol poisoning in 2011, at the age of 27. Her final recording had been with the US singer Tony Bennett. Later that year, when Bennett appeared on “The Daily Show,” he told Jon Stewart that Amy had been a “true jazz singer,” who sang “the right way.” (Image source) Close your eyes and I'll kiss youTomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you I'll pretend that I'm kissing
The lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you All my loving, I will send to you
All my loving, darling I'll be true Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you All my loving I will send to you
All my loving, darling I'll be true
All my loving, all my loving ooh
All my loving I will send to you (Image source) The Beatles – “All My Loving”
