Hi @steemchiller, about the invalid hotlinks:
There's https://steemitimages.com/u/[username]/avatar, which can be used to get user avatars from a central point. If an avatar image link expired form the original image hoster, there's a good chance that it's still available from the steemitimages URL. Maybe that's an option for steemworld as well?
