Today, me and my wife went for a good lunch. We usually hunting for culinary gems on every Sunday, this was one of it.
My wife made the pick. She have been seeing this new restaurant from her local friends' updates on social media.
Jinjja Chicken!
Honestly, I was genuinely thinking it's a wordplay of Ninja Chicken, but my Korean Stuffs' lover wifey told me that Jinjja roughly means "really". A casual word for questioning a statement in amusing tone.
Well, enough for that nerdy thingy, my stomach needs quick attention!
We went inside, quickly greeted and served to our table. This is a full-service restaurant.
After browsing thru the menu, we made our choices.
Jinjja Chicken Wings
Of course, the restaurant's star menu. I was originally wanted to order at least the 'Half Chicken', but wifey seems not really wanting to eat much chicken.
This special Korean Style fried chicken was deeply seasoned and served with three different options of outer sauce. Soy, Hot or Monster.
Soy will give you a nice soy-sweet taste with a bit spicy notes. While hot, yeah pretty straight forward, and Monster... well, this might potentially make your stomach angry.
We chose Soy.
It taste really good! Deeply seasoned to the bones! The soy sauce and sesame seed complete the magnificent taste!
I will definitely come again to this restaurant only for this chicken!
Super Cheesy Korean Fries
The waitress recommend this to my wife when she asked about french fries. The waitress did warn us, this fries is different. She was not lying!
It's unique! I never eat something like this before. The fries served on a sizzling hot plate, bathed insed melted mozarella cheese, filled with peeled corns and sprinkled with seaweed powder.
It tasted good, not gonna lie, it was surpassed our expectation. We was not really a fan of cheesy dishes, but this one was OK!
Army Stew, a bowl of Ramyeon
It's a funny name for a bowl of spicy ramyeon (a Korean version of Ramen), my wife made a joke about it. She said, this is might be what Korean Military Boys came up with when they asked to cook some spicy soup! 😂
This spicy ramyeon was good. My wife likes noodle based dishes, she went to many asian countries and tried almost every noodles there. Her verdict for this 'Army Stew' is Fine! She made some comment about the veggies and some Korean seasoning inside that bowl, I don't really understand it, but I guess it was great for her.
Conclusion
As a full-service restaurant, this restaurant pretty good and quick. It only took 12-15 minutes for our orders to arrive to our table.
The waitress was kind to guide us into their menu and specialty dishes. They was attentive too, we order local teas with specific way of brewing and temperatures, they deliver it exactly as we asked.
They also provided plastic gloves for you to eat the chicken using your hands. Because, that's the best way to enjoy fried chicken, especially in Asia.
I, personally recommend the chicken, it tasted good and I will definitely come back for it.
My wife think the Army Stew was good, but she want to try the Bibimbap (a Korean rice mix-bowl).
So, we went home with happy and full tummies.
Cheers 🍻
