My name is Patryk, I'm 34 years old and I live in s/Krakow/Cracow/ Poland. I'm a father and husband. I work as Site Reliability Engineer in Security and my primary focus is always on Performance, Security and High Availability.
My father brought the first computer ATARI 65XE into the home when I was 3... and this is the first thing I remember from my childhood. ;-) the next computers were Amiga 600 when I was 8 and finally the first real PC (Intel Pentium MMX 233 MHz) when I was 15. Currently I'm using Mac on primary workstation and Linux on all of my servers. Definitely computers changed me and my life... I've spent 90% of my time on this planet around the keyboards and monitors... and I still love it. ;-)

Witness node is located in France and hosted by OVH,
- 4 cores, 8 threads (dedicated server, passmark benchmark > 9k)
- 32GB RAM
- SSDs in RAID
- for security and monitoring: munin, rkhunter, fail2ban, iptables (with DROP as default policy), zabbix
- feed price update is automated by steemfeed [thx @clayop for this tool]
- server and services are monitored from external host (I'm going to setup backup node as soon I will start signing the first blocks) ;-)
# my goals and challenges as witness
As witness my primary goals will be to support Steemit community, understand all details of the network to make best decisions when it comes to HARDFORKs and share my technical knowledge and experience I gathered by the last 15+ years in IT by working as Network Specialist, System Administrator, Infrastructure Architect and SRE. I see this as great opportunity and challenge for me.
