If I vote I want to know for whom and what I vote and I cannot find that back.

        The "inactive" (dead) witnesses are those that are no longer running a witness server, basically 'they no longer exist as witnesses'.

        Basically they are not serving our Steem blockchain in any way, manner or form.

        As for voting, my stand on that is as follows:

        "Every persons vote is a personal choice".
