I smiled as I got to the end of this story. You always have a surprise waiting somewhere in your stories! With Alicia's fall and Josh stopping to help her, I was sure there was no way they would win the triathlon.

There's a life lesson in this piece. Sometimes life presents a challenge that may seem like there's no way out but our response to it and how we handle things is often the win. Not necessarily getting to the finish line. Like the tall man said, *the race is not to the swift"!

Hello @kemmyb. You are correct. There is a life lesson in the story. Sometimes individuals concentrate more on winning and the end goal than the details of getting to the finish line. Friendships and relationships are compromised along the way. What I think sometimes is that "is it worth it to reach the end" look back, and you've laid waste to the foundation of your life or sacrificed ethics. There is meaning to the beginning, the middle, and the end of one's goals. And who knows, perhaps a surprise at the end.
