When I visited the UK we went to a bunch of these museums throughout the country, and wow, you are so lucky to have them! Especially the art museums. Yes UK has tonness of great museums. We don't have as many here in Ireland, but they are mostly free to visit which is a great idea in my opinion.
You are so lucky in that aspect. I remember my visit to the UK we went to as many as we could. Here in South Africa, going to art museums or just galleries in general, you will need to pay. Such a sad thing really, as it gatekeeps who can learn about their own history.
