I was chatting with my friend Eddie Espino (@eddiespino) about the price of $HIVE and wether we'll see some price action this Moon Season™. I think it's inevitable that we'll see some price action in the coming months, BUT it got me thinking about the real holy grail of web 3: building self-contained parallel economies in which everything can be done without having to resort to fiat conversions.
Picture this:
On the far left of the chart is YOU! A content creator in the beautiful ecosystem that is HIVE. You participate regularly in weekly prompts like #ThoughfulDailyPost and #DIY. Because of your activity you've been rewarded with $HIVE and $HBD for years now, and you now have a nice stack of liquid HIVE/HBD. You've also decided to start your sticker production business for which you'll need a website.
HiveStickers.com: premium quality stickers that you can order online and have them delivered to your customers' doorstep.
You find a fellow Hivean who has awesome website design skills and can make a website that looks great, is super snappy, and can even integrate crypto payments to your site. Because you're both Hiveans, you agree to do business using HBD as payment. Of course, this is a lot of work and he'll need some help to make the website look pretty, so he hires a graphic designer who also happens to be a happy Hivean and is happy to accept HBD as payment. After the amazing website hivestickers.com is up and running, everybody gets paid and our graphic designer decides to go spend some of his earnings at Econo Quesos in Cumaná, Venezuela, a shop that also accepts HBD as payment.
Econo Quesos accepts the $HBD in exchange for some groceries and five minutes later gets a delivery order from YOU and so they pay a delivery guy to bring your order to your doorsptep on a motorcycle. The payment is also in HBD and the circle is closed.
Cool, right?
This is just one example of what could be bought and sold using native HIVE tokens. I've already brought my recording studio services to HIVE with @recording-box, where we happily accept payment for studio time with HIVE and HBD.
We also do our best to spread education about the Hive ecosystem and how well it integrates with other networks such as the Bitcoin Lightning network, making it easy for anybody to spend HIVE/HBD at any shop that accepts Bitcoin.
So my next question to everybody out there is: Do you have a talent that can be exchanged for $HBD? If you're already on HIVE, let's have a chat about it. If you haven't brought your talent to HIVE, perhaps let us know what you're missing and the community can help you get started.
