Europe's southern most town Tarifa post I

in Worldmappin4 months ago (edited)

I can see Africa!

Same as yesterday folks. Few words shall follow.

Why?

Yep, that's right, I'm still on my holidays.

So I'll share some photos here and there until I return to the emerald isle of saints and sinners.

These photos were taken in Europe's Southern Most town Tarifa.

Seriously lads and lassies, if you're ever in Marbella, Malaga, Estepona, Sevilla, Cadiz, make it your business to visit Tarifa, it's an absolute gem.

These are the views from our roof garden. What's that land mass in the distance?

That's as close as I've been to your continent @seki1 @cryptoandcoffee and other African friends.

I was tempted to get the day trip to Tangiers, but my wife was apprehensive, as our youngest is only 5 still, maybe leave it another few years.

Anyway, back to Tarifa, what a beautiful quaint, friendly and historic town it is. We will definitely be back, but I'm short on time right now and Tarifa deserved a verbose post to give it it's due, so let me just share a photo or two more here as a teaser for a post I hope to do another time if time allows when I'm home.

Ohhhhh, ohhh, ohh and we say the Rock of Gibraltar on the way driving down from our base in Benahavìs too which was pretty cool. I was driving and wifey missed a good photo opportunity, so hoping to pull in on the way back tomorrow and get some better shots.

I love Tarifa. To coin a phrase, it has an amazing vibe. We were there a few months back sleeping in one of the beach carparks further down. Loved it. A much needed rest after Africa.

Ya the vibe is something special for sure. We ambled around sauntering from place to place in a super chilled out mood. We really loved it. Off to a water park now for the kids and they're super excited!

I can imagine it was a perfect place to chill after the African exploits. What countries did ye visit in the trusty land rover?

I have still to visit Tarifa, keep hearing great things about it. The beaches look so beautiful.
I have been to Gibraltar a few times though. Enjoy the sunshine xxx

Ah seriously, this place would be right up your street. Maybe a place to go for one of the girls birthdays as a treat? Hope ye are all keeping well. Didn't get to Gibraltar this time.

Place looks beautiful man! Definitely nice to visit somewhere a bit warmer than where you are normally, and likely a bit more sunshine as well LOL

Too funny - my son has those same damn flip flops! He loves those things lol

No shit man! That's gas about the flip flops!

Tarifa was so nice, but Spain in general is just my vibe to be honest. As a Galway man I have that Spanish blood and Spanish influence, so I feel purely at home here.

Coming to my continent, I have just one advice.

Ditch the winter wear if you don't want to end up as a puddle somewhere 😂😂😂

The sun you feeling there is just a minute percentage of the overflow from Africa 🌍😂😂✨🔥

Glad you having fun in your travels though 😂

Ha ha ha, ya man, I'll need shorts and nothing else in Africa I'd say!! 🔥 🥵

Well, some towns in Greece are actually more south. Ierapetra is the truly southernmost town of Europe.

Sorry dude, I stand corrected.

One of the most Southerly points in Europe then...

Ah. Nothing like sharing your travel adventure on a mostly picture post. I hate creating posts on mobile devices and might resort to your tactic - more pics and less words! - for my next one!

Have you had any of the migrant boats from Africa landing there?
