Deranged Coin is live!
So what is Deranged Coin you might be asking? Well, other than being totally awesome, it is a reward token that you can call upon to send to people who's posts or comments you find great.
The token is distributed from the @deranged.coin account that I set up with the sole purpose of running the Deranged Coin token.
How does Deranged Coin work?
It is pretty simple. You find a post or a comment that you find awesome and you comment !DERANGED in your comment and the bot will send one DERANGED to that person's Steem Engine wallet. You will also receive a 5% upvote to your comment for holding DERANGED and sharing with others.
You do need 5 DERANGED in your Steem Engine wallet to be able to send 1 DERANGED a day. So if you have 20 DERANGED in your wallet, you can use the command four separate times a day and send 4 DERANGED people. When you use the !DERANGED command to send the token, it does not subtract any DERANGED from your wallet.
When you successfully send DERANGED to someone, they will get the above confirmation to their post letting them know that they just received DERANGED.
If you do not have enough DERANGED to send any more for the day you will get a comment like this:
You need more DERANGED (5 DERANGED is needed to send 1 DERANGED a day)
If you don't have 5 DERANGED in your wallet and you use the command you will get a message like this:
You don't have enough DERANGED to send any, you need at least 5 DERANGED in your Steem Engine wallet.
The @deranged.coin account
Like I had said before, when you send DERANGED to someone, you will get an upvote from the @deranged.coin account. Right now that account has the following SP and tokens associated with it:
Steem Power - 500
CCC - 5000
PHOTO - 5000
NEOXAG - 4000
So along with the small SP vote, you will earn some tribe tokens as well for sharing DERANGED with your friends and other members of the blockchain.
One thing that comes with services like this is people that will try and abuse it, so I will be monitoring the activity of the @deranged.coin account and if I find abusive behavior, I will remove those votes that were given and a warning will be given. If the behavior continues, the abusers may receive flags for their behavior.
I will not be able to see the replies to the account instantly or fix all of the issues right away with the bot, but I will be checking the replies periodically and trying to make sure that the bot is running smoothly, but if there is a problem with it, I will try and get it back up and running as soon as possible.
There is one thing I have noticed is that when using Steempeak for commenting, it is hit or miss when using the !DERANGED command.
How to get DERANGED
There are several ways that you can earn DERANGED. I will be giving portions of the coin to members of the community that I feel will distribute them responsibly. The first being my witness partner @c0ff33a. Without his help, I would not even have been able to get this off the ground.
The second way is to engage in the comments of my posts or the posts on my @derangedcontests account and I will reward people periodically that way.
The final way is to purchase them from Steem Engine. My goal with DERANGED is not to necessarily make money off of it, so I have only put a small amount of them on the market and the Steem that is generated from them will be put back into powering up the vote of the @deranged.coin account either through SP or the purchase of more tribe tokens for the account.
My main goal with DERANGED is to support the community in a fun way. I wanted to give you all something back for being such an awesome group of people. Just have fun with the tokens.
