When can we get $10 Hive already. This 9-5 life is killing me.
Every time that we get a good run at life something happens that drags us back into the mess again. Last week my dad was in a serious car crash. Walked away ok in the end but it was close to the end for him.
Then my missus is booked in for a procedure this week. Nothing serious but she'll be gone for a couple of days. If that wasn't enough both kids were sent home sick today from school and creche.
She minded the first one all day while struggling to keep on top of her work which is fairly top tier tax stuff.
I was out on the road but had to call in sick tomorrow to mind the two kids while she goes into the office and tidies up her cases before going for the procedure as well.
It's so hard to have two parents working and trying to raise kids at the same time.
There is always something going on with them and somebody needs to be there before five to pick up the first kid which isn't always possible either with our work schedules.
At this stage it's time to rethink everything and see if it's possible to cut down our work load enough to have one of us off every day for the kids and the house instead of two people working full time. The time and effort we have to put into keeping the show on the road just isn't worth it anymore and there is definitely a better way to do it.
Our biggest problem is the cost of living and the fact that we only got together in our thirties so we are trying to pack a lot into a few years.
Two kids, house, wedding all in one very expensive batch. If we had more of a lead up to these vents we could have built up a lot more reserve funds and planned it all out a bit better.
But there are no perfect solutions or perfect lives.
I think that it's a struggle for most people trying to find that balance in their lives but after the wedding this may we will have a good chance to re-evaluate and see how we can do it all a bit better.
Cut costs, live a simpler life and manage with less work and less income but more time to spend on the kids and a lot less stress trying to balance so many different things on very limited time.
Either that or an explosion in the price of hive that makes it all very simple.
