I wanted to check with you about what kind of school you're at as I often find it hard to tell the exact ages of people from different cultures. I can't always tell if someone is a teenager or a young adult if they're as tall as an adult!
I find it the most difficult with people with any kind of Chinese heritage (or similar) as they look even more different again! It's all so interesting. I love people. We humans are fascinating, aren't we?

Well, ever since I was growing up I've always had so much passion for computers and music as well. So what I plan to do after high school is;
I will specialize in Artificial Intelligence (The software part of it) in the University. Actually I'm someone who loves learning new things, and I also love learning them very fast π. So I've already been self-learning lots about software engineering (that is, AI engineering, Web Development, etc.)
My main focus is mostly AI, and Web Development. I really love the idea of creating websites and Web applications, so that's why I'm learning it too. But I'll have to specialize in Artificial Intelligence in the university.
Even though learning hasn't really been productive on my side, because I don't yet have a personal laptop π» of my own yet. I've tried to get one from time to time but my amount of money is never enough, so I usually end up using it for other school needs. So I have really been limited due to the absence of a laptop.
Getting a laptop now would be like a dream come true to me π

Firstly, you never need to apologise for writing a long reply. Thank you for sharing about your plans and your passions. I was happy to read about them.
I think what I love the most about reading your reply is that it challenges the things I've been taught since childhood about Africa and people from Africa.
I love that I am a white 43 year old white woman in a rich country who has soooooooo much in common with an 18 year old black man in a poorer country. I was taught to think we were so different due to our age differences, our ethnicities, our countries of origin, our spiritual beliefs, etc. And yet, I see that you and I are so similar in so many ways.
We both love learning, a lot! We are both open minded and forward thinking and willing to challenge ourselves, by being on a platform like Hive. We both care about our family, a lot. We both have a belief in something bigger than ourselves. And we are both willing to dream beyond the current limitations of our lives.
I was also brainwashed into thinking that Africa (as an entire continent with no differences between countries!) is full of helpless, starving, poor people.
But every time I meet another person from another country in Africa who has studied at university and/or writes English as well as I do and/or can have high level conversations about psychology and other things that interest me, all while maintaining a job that feeds them well enough, I realise I've been taught a lie.
And when I read that you're going to study AI at uni (when I wasn't even sure if Cameroon had universities!) I am blown away. This is my own ignorance and it is WONDERFUL to have it challenged.
THIS is why I'm so excited to be on Hive and to meet people like you in countries I've never been to; I get to learn, first hand about people around the world and what their lives are REALLY like instead of the rubbish I'm fed through my society, media, etc.
Phew! Hopefully, this level of honesty was revealing and helpful, rather than upsetting! I think in countries similar to mine (English speaking, predominantly white people) will be full of people who also have a really limited, warped and out dated view of countries in Africa. So perhaps it's good to know how much we've been brainwashed. So if you meet people on here who aren't as friendly or encouraging, don't take it personally. They just haven't looked beyond their own subconscious programming!
Meanwhile, let's pray for a laptop for you! That sounds essential for your work. Hopefully, God can see that and I'm sure you'll take the necessary steps to help make that a reality.

How I wish many other people in countries similar to yours could see the conversation we have had so far, and finally get some little truth about Africa and its people...
I'm also very glad to see and know that we have so much in common! I believe with most people like you in your country and countries similar to yours, the world would be a place of Peace, Joy, Happiness, and so many other positive treasures.
I am also very glad and honored that I have helped as a learning point to you.

Believe me you are the first ever white person that I've ever spoken to so freely and honestly. I have a few white friends, but anytime I try to have an honest discussion, they bounce out. But now thanks to you I understand why most of them do that ( At least I know I can't blame them, because that's what they have been fed with about Africa)

Ahhhh! Wonderful. I'm so glad you could receive my reply as I intended it.
I think there is a big difference between me and so many people here in Australia and in other so-called "Western" or "1st World" countries is that I have dived deeply into my own beliefs, pains and patterns. Most people don't know themselves very well. They don't know how much they've been brainwashed.
And they're very uncomfortable with challenging conversations. But I love digging into things that could help me grow and if the other person is too, then hallelujah!
Now, I must share, that I am not Christian. I consider myself "spiritual" as opposed to having faith inside a particular religion. But I happen to think that Jesus Christ was a pretty cool guy who had a lot of wisdom to teach us.
I also think that since my parents were brought up Catholic (which is very similar to Christianity) the term "God" feels pretty comfortable inside my brain. They did not raise us Catholic though; they taught us about many different things and encouraged us to ask a lot of questions! Overtime, I came to my own conclusion that there had to be something bigger than just my human experience.
So, forewarning: I use the label "God" interchangeably with The Universe, Source, The Divine, and other terms to point to the omnipresent, omniscient energy surrounding us.
But I am also 100% happy to have friends who speak to the same Energy Of Everything with different labels. I have friends on here who are Buddhist, Muslim, Catholic, and probably some kind of earthy-witchy types. To me, we are all the same: good people wanting to do good things on the planet, willing to be grateful for all that we have.

Wow! The reference in which you use "God" is so unique. Considering the fact that you are so diverse, you are just perfect the way you are. Don't ever let anyone drift you away from your everything (Even though I believe it will take a really great person to do that because you are so smart, and you put in so much belief and all of you in whatever you do)!
