If you feel good to see a modernized, well look interior for your home, then tiles are the most important things.

Mostly if you go low on budget, then replace the marbles with tiles. Now a days you can find many tiles as good as marbles in many ways.

Here are different types of tiles :

Usually tiles that are made from clay or a combination of clay and other materials, then kiln-fired, are considered to be a part of the larger classification called “Ceramic Tiles”.

So Ceramic tiles can be divided into two groups

  1. Porcelain/vitrified tiles
  2. Non-porcelain/vitrified tiles - In common terms they are known as ceramic tiles

Ceramic tile (non -porcelain/vitrified tiles):

These tiles are made from clay (Either white/ red) and then fired in a klin at different temperature. The firing temperature and material decides the strength of the tile.

Ceramic tiles can be used in both wall tiles and floor tiles applications depending on the manufacturing process.

They are easy to cut, hence more accepted.

Though ceramic tiles are used for floor, still not suitable for high traffic or load areas.

They have more water absorbent property compared to non - porcelain tiles.

Porcelain/Vitrified tiles:

Porcelain tiles are made from dust (from clays), which is compacted or pressed heavily to create tiles.

They are more dense compared to ceramic tile and has a very less water absorption rate.

Compared to ceramic tiles, they are smooth and looks good.
