I agree with the others - I'd take the wings and leave the body, which reminds me on the Michelin Man 😉
But the wings are a beautiful peace of artwork and well photographed, JJ 😊

What a lovely post JJ. I thought that we only have Cicada's here in Africa?
Some days here we can hardly hear ourselves with their screeching in the heat.
I have a nice photo of a live one somewhere and will look for it.

Sadly I can not fly anymore with my COPD, so unless I win the lottery big time and can cruise there not much chance I can make it there, or if I win big I will treat you on a trip here :)

Sadly I don't play the lottery my friend. They are supposed to help charities, but the big money goes to their connections.
Maybe when steem booms we will be able to visit, or book a cruise for you guys!

Would be nice if steem does eventually rise and give us options like that

Oh wow!!! I do love the wings too. What is the art piece made of, I wonder? But now... I can imagine myself flying like a cicada over a park after hibernating 13 to 17 years and seeing the world for the first time, hehe! Well, actually that was how a felt, somewhat... after I started taking photos and noticed beautiful small details, thanks to you @tattoodjay!

I looked it up yesterday and couldn't find info on them, but i just looked again now and it is made of Recycled glass and polymer resin
Which makes me like it even more I love when art is made of recycled things

My sister used to live in Illinois right near the Mississippi river and in the Summer the cicadas in the trees made the most memorable sound. It was loud and sometimes annoying, but still cool to think back about.
